Governor Northam's Executive Order 61

Here is a summary of what is included in E.O. 61:

  • The stay at home order will be converted to a “safer at home” order

  • “Non essential” retail establishments can operate at 50% capacity

  • Restaurants can operate outdoor dining spaces at 50% capacity; curbside and to-go orders continue

  • Farmers markets may open

  • Entertainment (bowling alleys, theaters, etc.) remain closed

  • Gyms can offer outdoor classes only

  • Personal grooming services (hair salons, barber shops, nail salons, etc.) can operate at 50% capacity and by appointment only

  • State parks remain open for day use, slowly begin opening overnight facilities

  • Beaches remain open for exercise and fishing only

  • Churches can begin operating at 50% indoor capacity for churches; outdoor, drive-in style services still acceptable 

  • 10 person limit on gatherings remain in place

  • Telework is still encouraged for all who are able to do so
